At HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, we explore your support needs together to ensure you can pursue your studies comfortably and with confidence. For a confidential conversation, you can contact a student counsellor.

The student counsellor listens to you and offers advice on suitable support and facilities. You can reach out with questions about studying with auditory, visual, or physical impairments, chronic illness, mental health challenges, physical or mental complaints, caregiving responsibilities, family circumstances or neurodiversity, such as dyslexia, ADHD and/or ASS. You can also get in touch if you find yourself repeatedly facing the same challenges - such as struggling with procrastination.

Additional facilities

Together with the student counsellor, you explore your personal situation and how it may affect your studies. Based on your specific support needs, you’ll explore what is both necessary and feasible—such as receiving extra time during exams.

Examination Board

The Examination Board is responsible for approving any requested extra support and facilities such as extra time. That’s why it’s important to discuss your needs in advance and check what’s possible. This helps avoid any unpleasant surprises.
