How will I be supported at HU?
Your study career coach is your primary point of contact at HU. Beyond that, we offer additional support:
- Student counsellor: Offers support with personal circumstances that may affect your studies, such as mental health, physical challenges, or family issues. Learn more about studying with additional support needs.
- Student psychologist: Provides short-term psychological support for challenges like fear of failure or motivation problems.
- Confidential advisor: A safe and trusted contact if you experience unwanted behaviour or feel unsafe at HU.
- Study choice and career advisor: Helps you gain clarity if you're uncertain about your study programme, minor, or future career path.
Are you combining your studies with practicing sports at top-level? To support you, additional facilities are available.
Study successfully with the Student Support Centre
As an HU student, you can further develop yourself through the Student Support Centre (SSC). The SSC offers training sessions, workshops, and support groups focused on your well-being and personal growth.
Study Support Room
Looking for a dedicated space to study efficiently with others? The Study Support Room provides a consistent study environment with guidance from a dedicated coach.
Taalsupport
Need help writing in Dutch or English? The Taalsupport offers assistance through trained student language coaches. It’s a service created for students, by students.
HU Home
Are you new to the Netherlands and Dutch isn’t your first language? HU Home helps you feel at home faster at HU. Fellow students offer support tailored to your needs—through mentoring programmes, social activities, and extra language assistance.
