Lecturer-researcher

Since October 2023, Veerle Hobbelink is a junior researcher within the research group Smart Systems for Healthy Living. She focuses on research into social robots.

Veerle holds a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the VU University with a specialization in cognitive science, building upon a bachelor's in Psychobiology from the University of Amsterdam. As a research assistant she was involved in various projects on the topic of social robots.

Besides the fact that she really likes social robots, she thinks it could be a valuable technology to support and help people. She would like to investigate what this technology can mean for children’s education, for example.
