Roland Bijvank

Researcher

After his studies in Computer Technology at Utrecht University, Roland Bijvank (1967) worked at University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMC) as an application developer/manager and system integration specialist  for patient care. He then worked as a full stack developer for the Rabobank investment site.

He eventually returned to the UMC Utrecht as a solution architect for the personnel and salary system. During the strategy study phase, Roland formed the substantive (architectural) conscience for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) selection process, followed by the implementation of the chosen ERP through a European tender. Since 2020 Roland is (Solution Architect at NWO, where he works at the quality of certifications and production processes (Certif-AI). For the Master Data Driven Business, he developed a module Information Systems which he also taught.

He has been working as a lecturer in the Cyber Security & Cloud degree programme since 1 January 2011. He has done a lot of professional development for IT Service Management programming (Python) and IT architecture. Within the Research group Artificial Intelligence (AI) he conducts research into process mining and hopes to complete his doctoral degree in this field.
