Cindy Veenhof

Professor

Cindy Veenhof has been a professor in the Research group Innovation of Movement Care at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2016. From 2014 on, she has also held a chair at UMC Utrecht’s Clinical Health Sciences master’s degree programme, focusing specifically on Physiotherapy Science within the Rehabilitation, Nursing Science and Sports department.

In addition, Cindy heads the Physiotherapy Science master’s degree programme. From 1999 to 2014, Cindy worked for the NIVEL research institute. Initially as a PhD candidate, working in the project ‘Effectiviteit van gedragsmatige oefentherapie bij patiënten met artrose van heup en/of knie’ (‘Effectiveness of behavioural exercise therapy among patients with osteoarthritis of the hip and/or knee’); later as a research coordinator for the theme ‘Paramedische zorg en Sport’ (‘Allied Care and Sports’).

In the Research group Innovation of Movement Care, Cindy forms the connecting factor between the three lines of research ‘Fysieke zelfredzaamheid rond ziekenhuisopnamen’ (‘Physical self-sufficiency in the context of a hospital stay’), ‘Technologie in de beweegzorg’ (‘Technology in movement care’) and ‘Innovaties in de organisatie van beweegzorg’ (‘Innovations in the organisation of movement care’). Together with the Research group, she aims to make a significant contribution to innovation within the professional practice of movement care, and to strengthen this process with knowledge drawn from practice-based research.
