Andrea Donker
Andrea Donker PhD is a professor of Public health and public safety at the Research Centre for Social Innovation. Since 1995, she has been studying the development of criminal behaviour and the application of that knowledge in the social and judicial response to criminal behaviour.
Andrea worked as a professor in Development Criminology at the University of Applied Sciences Leiden, at the Criminology department at Leiden University, and at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR). She received her training as a Psychologist and Medical Biologist at the University of Amsterdam (both with distinction) and obtained her doctorate on the development of criminal behaviour from childhood to adulthood (Leiden University).
Andrea is a co-developer of the HU Master Forensic Social Professional. She has extensive experience in supervising students and developing and teaching in bachelor and master's degree programmes (WO and HPE; Criminology, Social Work, Applied Psychology, as well as several courses for the Police Academy). She is also a member of the editorial staff of the magazine ‘Justitiële verkenningen’ (‘Judicial explorations’).
